Azure Latch Isagi Guide: Moveset, Quest Role & Rebirth Path

The Heart of Blue Lock

Isagi is a Common style — the starter kit — and simultaneously the most important style in the game’s progression: two questlines (NEL Isagi and Hiori) run through him, and his awakening carries unique cutscene interactions.

Moveset (Official Values)

  • {T} Spatial Awareness — see where the ball will travel with a glance. 30s cooldown, 5s duration. This is the game teaching you ball prediction; keep it for contested drops, not open play.
  • [1] Direct Shot — iFrames, 20s cooldown, usable anywhere. Ten goals with it are a NEL quest requirement.
  • [2] Naruhaya Footwork — iFrames, 30s cooldown.
  • Awakening — 55s, usable off-ball, unlocking MY DIRECT SHOT and the Two Gun Volley — both quest items across the questlines.
  • Overtime Awakening — a 50s variant triggered by flowing at 0:00 in a tied game.

Special Interactions

Isagi’s awakening is cutscene-rich: Back-Heel Shot triggers when an enemy Rin tackles you mid-Direct Shot (60s cooldown, ends your flow), “Fooled You, Genius!” plays his awakening shot against a Rin, and he can appear in the overtime “GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL!!!” sequence on the QTE winner’s side (interactions list).

Why You Shouldn’t Reroll Immediately

New players spin away from Isagi at first chance — then buy him back for quests. Both his questline chapters (Rebirth for NEL, Rebirth Encore for Hiori) need Direct Shot and MY DIRECT SHOT reps, and the “Strongest Guy” chemical reaction with Bachira runs through his flow. Learn positioning on him, keep him in storage, and the tier list’s C-rank stops mattering — his value is what he unlocks.
